Rotherham United’s New York Stadium is to be turned into the town’s biggest pub - for a beer festival.

Over 70 beers will be on offer at the WilfordSmith New York Championship Beer Festival, which runs from Thursday, November 13 to Saturday, November 15.

Festival organiser Steve Burns, of the Campaign for Real Ale, said: “Beer lovers from across South Yorkshire will be heading to Rotherham to sample the very best of Yorkshire beers, which we at CAMRA consider to be among the finest in the world.

“There will be beers of all styles from light, hoppy golden ales to robust stouts and porters from breweries in Yorkshire and Derbyshire.

“The festival is the town’s biggest showcase event for Yorkshire beer and brewing.

“This is the third year the festival will be at the New York Stadium and we look forward to showing, once again, just how good Yorkshire real ale is.”

The festival is open from 6pm until 11pm on the Thursday and Friday and from noon until 11pm on the Saturday.

Entry is £5, which includes a free pint for CAMRA members.
