Rotherham residents urged to have their say on council budget

Rotherham residents are being asked to give their views on how Rotherham Borough Council’s budget should be spent – and where cuts should be made.

The council has had its budget slashed by £93 million since 2010 and needs to save another £23 million before March 2016.

Deputy Leader Councillor Emma Hoddinott said: “Rotherham’s budget is being squeezed more and more, year on year, and each year the Council is having to make some very difficult decisions.

“We cannot underestimate the size and the impact of the savings required.

“Since 2010, we have been forced to make the equivalent of a £360 reduction in spending for every person living in the borough.
