The store has been transformed as part of a large-scale roll-out across the UK and follows the recent launch of LloydsPharmacy’s wider initiative to deliver forward-thinking and flexible healthcare.

Dalton residents can now benefit from enhanced services for a range of conditions at the revamped store, with a particular emphasis on skin health and pain management.

Nicole Hartshorn, pharmacy manager, comments: “We’re excited by our transformation; we want our new store to become the destination of choice for customers looking for expert health advice.

“Our knowledgeable nine-strong team will be on hand to provide customers with individual expertise on skin health, helping those with skin conditions to effectively manage their condition with product selection support and application techniques.”

The enhanced services are already proving popular with customers in other locations. A recent survey conducted by LloydsPharmacy showed that customers believe LloydsPharmacy to be experts when it comes to giving advice on skin care (72%) and a massive 92 percent feel LloydsPharmacy to be experts in giving advice on pain relief.

Pain management is an area where the Dalton pharmacy team will now offer enhanced support. Results from LloydsPharmacy’s pain control service show that 46 percent of customers have experienced improved pain after just four weeks of taking pharmacist’s advice.

“We know many who suffer from long-term health conditions don’t always want to go to their doctor every time they have a question,” Nicole continued. “We’re able to support the work of GPs and other healthcare professionals in the area by offering convenient, one-to-one care that our local residents need and deserve.”

Complementing the forward-thinking approach to health, the store has relocated from Enden House, Magna Lane, to Valley Medical Centre in Saville Street and undergone a modern make-over, providing customers with a bright and airy, relaxed environment in which to seek help and advice at ease.

The community pharmacy is the latest of more than 350 stores to complete the transformation. The steady rollout of stores during 2015 takes the total number of stores to have undergone the transformation to almost 500.

LloydsPharmacy in Dalton is open from 8am to 6.30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 8am to 8pm on Wednesday. To find out more, please visit Valley Medical Centre, Saville Street, Rotherham, S65 3HD, and speak to a member of the pharmacy team.

At the heart of the initiative is the aim to ensure residents have access to expert health advice within their community, ensuring health services are readily available whether in-store or via the LloydsPharmacy online doctor service, where customers can seek advice for a range of health concerns via lloydspharmacy.com.

The official opening was carried out by store staff, helped by loyal and long-standing customer Bessie Egan and Mayor of Rotherham Maggi Clark.
