Takeaway giant Domino’s Pizza has been forced to distance itself from comments made about Rotherham people ‘relying on benefits’ on national TV tonight (June 11)..

Channel 4 documentary Domino’s Pizza: A Slice Of Life shone a light on the workings of the pizza chain in an hour-long film broadcast at 8pm.

But a comment made by one Domino’s manager has had the people of Rotherham up in arms, with people taking to social media to defend the town.

On the programme, the audience learns that Domino’s manager Taz has struggled to fill vacant driver positions in the town.

He said: “Most people here, they just rely on benefits.

“They have working everything, hands, arms, legs...”

Domino’s Pizza took to Twitter to refute the comments. The account @Dominos_UK tweeted: “These were purely personal comments and do not represent the opinions of #Dominos UK or its teams around the country.”
