Rotherham MP Sarah Champion carved up the turkey for users of the Shiloh charity this Christmas.
Sarah enjoyed Christmas dinner with the service users and spent time with the volunteers and those who have received help from the organisation, which offers a pathway to adults in need.
Shiloh serves thousands of free meals every year to local adults in need and also provides facilities such as washing, showering and laundry. Sarah has supported their work since becoming Rotherham’s MP in 2012.
After her meal, Sarah said: “The work done by Shiloh in Rotherham is amazing and I’m proud to support their cause in any way I can. It’s important that there is something like this available for those in need and after talking to people today, I can see just how much this charity is needed by our community.
“I’d like to thank the people who volunteer at Shiloh for all their hard work throughout the year to make this service the success that it has become.
“The need for homeless shelters, food banks and services like Shiloh has increased enormously in the last few years. Whilst I’m hugely grateful to the volunteers and charities running them, I’m also deeply saddened that in the UK we need them at all.”
