Rotherham man urged will makers to think of diabetes charity

Terry Nougher-Fuller, aged 74 from Ravenfield, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he was 22 and says he has seen the difference research has made to the lives of people with the condition.

He said: “The continuing research, which has increased our understanding of diabetes, has meant ever improving methods of controlling it.”

As a member of the Rotherham Diabetes UK group, Terry has raised cash to support diabetes research projects across the UK and is urging people to think of the charity when they draw up their wills.

Stephen Ryan, of Diabetes UK, said: “There has been rapid progress in diabetes research over the last 80 years, and Diabetes UK has driven many of the biggest projects – something only made possible by our amazing donors.

“Gifts left to Diabetes UK will be used to help us care for, connect, and campaign alongside even more people living with diabetes as we continue our work to manage, prevent and, one day, cure the condition currently affecting four million people.”
