Rotherham man charged after high-speed police chase

A Rotherham man has been charged with a string of motoring offences and drug dealing following a high-speed police chase.

The 31-year-old, from Dinnington, is due to appear at Harrogate Magistrates' Court today accused of dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and possessing cannabis with intent to supply.

He was arrested after a 100mph police chase along the A1 between Scotch Corner and Boston Spa on Tuesday afternoon.

When officers stopped the car involved they found a three-year-old child in the back.

A Rotherham woman arrested over the incident has been reported for prosecution in relation to drug offences.
