A Rotherham man has been arrested on suspicion of rape as part of a police probe into child sexual exploitation in the town.
He was arrested in Rotherham yesterday afternoon on suspicion of raping a girl under the age of 16.
The arrest by National Crime Agency officers forms part of Operation Stovewood - an investigation into child sexual exploitation and abuse in Rotherham between 1997 and 2013.
The operation was launched following the publication of a report in 2014 into child sexual exploitation in the town over the 16-year period.
It concluded that around 1,400 children had been exploited and abused by men of largely Pakistani heritage while those in authority turned a blind eye.
So far four arrests have been made as part of Operation Stovewood.
Officers currently have 33 suspects.
