Rotherham man and woman charged with attempted murder

A man and a woman have been charged with attempted murder and robbery after a man was assaulted in Rotherham, suffering slash wounds to his throat.

Terry Baxter, 29, and Stacey Ellis, 28, both of Blyth Road, Rawmarsh, appeared at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court this morning (Thursday, February 19). They were both charged with attempted murder and robbery.

They have been remanded in custody until their next appearance at Sheffield Crown Court.

Police were called to an area off Eldon Road in Rotherham just after 4pm on Tuesday (February 16) following reports that a man had been attacked. The 30-year-old victim was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition with serious injuries that are not thought to be life threatening.

Witnesses to the attack should call police on 101 quoting incident 717 of February 16.
