ROTHERHAM Hospice will open up its beautiful gardens to host its annual Summer Fair early next month.
Due to building works at the hospice, the last two years have seen the fair situated in the car park.
To celebrate its return to the gardens, fundraisers are planning an English Country Garden theme.
There will be some new, exciting stalls and games as well as all the old favourites such as the much loved cake stall, as well as a hog roast, barbecue, cream teas, and strawberries and cream.
For real ale lovers, this year will see the introduction of a beer tent serving real ales from Wentworth Brewery, as well as Pimms, wine and soft drinks.
To accommodate the new stalls and features to the fair, the hospice gardens will open out on to Herringthorpe Playing Fields where there will also be a mini-Olympics and a penalty shootout competition.
Entertainment will be provided throughout the afternoon, including performances from Wickersley Community Choir.
There will be an assortment of traditional games, as well as face painting and a bouncy castle.
There will be a competition for the best English Country Garden decorated hat, with prizes for different age groups from infants to adults.
The Summer Fair takes place on Saturday, July 7, from noon until 4pm, at the hospice on Broom Road. Admission to the fair is free.
The fundraising team is looking for donations for the fair, including homemade cakes, cupcakes, jams and chutneys, toys and bric-a-brac. Call 01709 308 917 if you can help.
