The club have reintroduced a Monday coaching session at Thrybergh Sports College on Monday evenings (5-6pm) as well as launching its first ever SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) team, which trains at the same venue on Tuesdays (5-6pm).

And the Hawks are aiming to have a team in the under 12 National League next season as they develop a group of talented players who currently play at under 9-11 levels.

Coach Steve Woodhouse said it is an exciting time for the club: “There is plenty happening right across the club from our ‘Rookies’ group of five to eight year-olds right up to the men’s side in the Sheffield League.

“We’re pleased to be starting the SEND team, for which we’re getting support from Rotherham Council. The Hawks now have training sessions four days a week and regular matches on Sundays in tournaments against clubs from across the area so there are plenty of opportunities for anyone who has an interest in playing basketball to get involved.”

Hawks Monday primary school age session is followed by coaching from 6-8pm for secondary school students. On Wednesday’s Thrybergh plays host to a 16+ session from 5.30-7.30pm.

Saturday’s training is at Thomas Rotherham college with Rookie sessions 9-10am, Intermediates 9-10.30am, under 13s 10.30am-noon and seniors 12-2pm.
