Twinkle-toed performers are set to pull of their best dance moves during a non-stop dance-a-thon to raise money for a cancer charity.

Members of JustDance Studios, based in Sandygate, Wath-upon-Dearne, are planning to dance for one hour solid on Friday, October 14, to raise funds for Breast Cancer Care’s ‘The Big Pink’ annual fundraiser.

Students of all ages will be tap dancing away as part of the ‘tap-a-thon’, while older members will be undertaking intensive ‘polefit’ classes.

The studio held a similar event last year which managed to raise an impressive £2828.97, and organisers are hoping they can beat that total this year.

Sheryl Moore, principal of JustDance Studios, said of last year’s effort: “It’s much harder than it seems and all students soldiered on determined to succeed for The Big Pink.“

She added: “We hope to raise even more funds this year and with the help and support of their extended dance family they have high hopes to achieve it.

“Students and families from across their chain of dance schools in Chapeltown, Wombwell and Wath-Upon-Dearne are busy collecting sponsors and will be taking part in this fundraising event to help donate to this great cause.

“They will be hosting stalls with refreshments, games, raffle, tombola and much more.

“Everyone is welcome, we would love to see as many people as possible there.

“A local football team - Swinton Robin Hood FC - are sponsored by JustDance and will also be attending and showing their support in their pink away kit.

“The studios take pride in helping charities such as this and doing their part to help kick cancer.”

Doors open for the event at 5pm and the sponsored dance will commence at 6pm. In addition to the fundraising show, the group will be presenting their ‘Lets Dance’ show at Dearne Playhouse in Goldthorpe on Thursday, November 17, and Friday, November 18, at 7pm. For more information visit
