Rotherham Council facilities festive closure times announced

Rotherham residents are being reminded that the libraries and customer service centres, Clifton Park Museum, Rotherham Markets and Herringthorpe Stadium will be closed for the Christmas and New Year bank holidays.

Clifton Park Museum closes at 4pm on Christmas Eve, and is also closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and December 27. It opens from 10am to 5pm on December 28, 29 and 30 and is open 9.30am to 4pm on New Year’s Eve.

It is closed New Year’s Day and January 2 before opening as normal from January 3 from 10am.

Boston Castle is closed until April 2017.

All libraries and customer service centres except Riverside House will be closed from Christmas Day and reopen from January 3. Usual opening times apply for Christmas Eve.

Rotherham Markets are open on Christmas Eve from 8am to 4pm, but will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and December 27. They will open on December 28, 29 and 30 from 8.30am to 5pm. On New Year’s Eve the markets are open from 8am to 4pm. They will be closed on New Year’s Day and January 2 and open as usual January 3 from 8.30am to 5pm.

Rotherham Civic Theatre is closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Herringthorpe Stadium will close on December 22 and reopen on January 3. Rotherham Council’s contact centre will be operating its normal opening hours of 8am to 8pm everyday with the exception of weekends, Boxing Day, December 27 and January 2.

The council’s housing repairs and maintenance service is reminding tenants that the emergency repairs service is open 24/7 over the festive period on 01709 336009. All household waste recycling centres will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
