Rotherham burglar snared after leaving blood at crime scene
Jason Robert Holland, aged 43, of Bawtry Road, Hellaby, Rotherham, cut himself on a pane of glass he smashed to break into the house in Clifford Road, Hellaby.
Tests on the blood led officers to Holland, who was already on the police DNA database.

Hide AdHolland, who pleaded guilty to burglary, ransacked every upstairs room in the house he broke into after smashing a downstairs window to get inside.
Two laptops and two sat navs were stolen along with a gym bag, an iPod and some hair straighteners.
PC Adam Broughton, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “I am pleased that Holland is now behind bars for a number of years.
“Burglary is a highly intrusive crime, which is extremely traumatic for the victims.

Hide Ad“To have your own home broken into and possessions rifled through and then stolen is a complete violation of someone’s privacy.
“I hope that this sentence sends out a strong message that we will thoroughly investigate any report of a burglary so that we can continue to bring these offenders to justice.”
