Rotherham abuse trial: '˜Whooping Asian men tried to rape 13-year-old girl in Sheffield flat'

The alleged victim, who is now 30, told Sheffield Crown Court that her, her sister and another girl had been taken from Rotherham to a flat above a shop in Sheffield by ‘Mad Ash’ - the nickname of defendant Arshid Hussain - and another man she knew as ‘Madge’ or ‘Moo’.

She said there had been four or five older Asian men ‘with white beards’ in the property when they arrived.

In a video interview played to the jury, the woman said she was taken into a bedroom by ‘Mad Ash’ who then had sex with her.

She then he then left the room with the other men ‘running in’ and starting to grope her while she had no clothes on.

“These men have come running in, making whooping noises, like Indian noises,” she said.

“They were taking their clothes off.”

She said the men surrounded her and one got on top of her.

The woman said the attack lasted a couple of minutes before she managed to escape the room.

“I was screaming ‘Get off me’,” she said.

“That is the vision I always get from that.”

She said ‘Mad Ash’ had been laughing about what happened.

The woman said: “He knew what were happening because I was shouting him, I saw him.

“He has used me and then told them to go into me.”

She said she was her sister performing a sex act on ‘Madge’ in another bedroom.

The woman said the girls were later dropped off by ‘Mad Ash’ and ‘Madge’ at a petrol station and had to walk back to Rotherham in the middle of the night.

The woman also spoke of a separate incident involving Hussain’s younger brother ‘Bono’, in which he had told a passing police officer she had been performing a sex act on him and the policeman ‘drove off’.

Under cross examination from Tahir Khan QC, representing Arshid Hussain, the woman denied she had only picked out his client from an identification parade after recognising his image from media reports.

She said she had not seen pictures of him prior to the ID parade.

Hussain and six other defendants deny a number of historic child sexual exploitation offences.
