Rock 'n' roll heaven

Lovers of 50/60s music can enjoy a slice of rock 'n' roll heaven, when the Hillbilly Cats play their monthly gig at the Railway Hotel, Wadsley Bridge, on Friday.

This month is when both Elvis and Johnny Burnette “left the building’’.

Elvis of course needs no introduction, but many people don’t realise, that as well as having ’60s UK hits with such as, Dreamin’, You’re Sixteen, and Little Boy Sad, the Johnny Burnette Trio recorded some great rock ’n’ roll tracks in the ’50s.

I will be playing a selection of their songs, plus audience requests, in between the band’s sets, so get your gladrags on, and join the fun.
