Mum-of-three Natasha Green said: “I was waiting at the Post Office counter and the woman at the next counter along was keeping an eye on these two people in the back of the shop.

“They had been in before, stealing coffee, apparently.

“So when they started to leave having taken groceries, the woman at the other counter shot out to confront them and told them to stop.

“The woman said ‘we have drug habits to feed, we need this more than you,’ and when challenged further she said ‘I will stab you. I will stab everyone in this store.”

“The staff member then backed off and let them go.

“Nobody saw a knife, but she said she was going to stab them.”

Ms Green then went home and called the police.
