Men armed with knives are being hunted after two robberies in Eckington over two days.

In the first robbery, at 9.30pm last Wednesday, a man was threatened by two men who produced a knife and demanded his wallet in an ambush in Fir Road.

Both robbers had their faces covered.

One was over 6ft tall and was wearing a dark sweater, grey tracksuit bottoms and gloves.

The other was shorter and was wearing similar clothing and gloves.

The following day a convenience store in Ravencar Road was raided by two men who threatened the assistant with a knife.

They stole money from the till and chocolate on display in the shop.

One man was white, around 6ft tall and in his mid to late twenties.

He had the lower part of his face covered, was wearing a blue T-shirt and light brown trousers and was carrying a black rucksack.
