Robbers armed with screwdriver hunted over shop raid in Sheffield

Two robbers armed with a screwdriver are still at large almost six months after they raided a Sheffield shop.

They struck at Spar on Stannington Road, Stannington, and demanded cash from the staff while one of the raiders used a screwdriver to force his way into the till.

Details of the robbery at 8.30pm on Thursday, December 22 have only been released by South Yorkshire Police today.

A force spokeswoman said: "Numerous enquiries have been conducted in the local community and CCTV stills circulated to officers across Sheffield, however the suspects have not yet been identified.

"It was reported that two men entered the Spar store on Stannington Road in Stannington and demanded money from the shop workers at around 8.30pm on Thursday, December 22.

"It is understood that one of the suspects used a screwdriver to force entry to the till, before fleeing the scene with a quantity of cash.

"Nobody was injured during the incident."

CCTV images have been released of men police want to trace over the raid.
