Roadworks spell traffic disruption for motorists

LOCATIONS of roadworks around Sheffield today and tomorrow have been revealed by council highways chiefs.

Sheffield Council said that Loxley Road, Loxley, will have temporary lights for highway maintenance from today until Wednesday.

Wolverley Road, Broomhill, is closed today for carriageway repairs.

Loxley Road is one-way only westbound at Malin Bridge, tomorrow and for the next four Sundays.

Glossop Road is temporarily one way, heading out of the city between Upper Hanover Street and Brunswick Street for water mains work from today until September 6.

Tomorrow, Bradfield Road, Hillsborough, will be one way heading south-west between Middlewood Road and Hawksley Avenue for carriageway works, Abbeydale Road will have temporary lights at the junction of Ward Place, Sharrow, for telecoms work. and there will be stop-go boards on Glossop Road, Nile Street and Clarkehouse Road, in Broomhill, and Shore Lane and Manchester Road, Crosspool.

Exchange Place, in the city centre, has a bus lane closure tomorrow for water main works.

Gleadless Road has temporary traffic lights at Gleadless Town End, Halifax Road, Parson Cross, has lane closures. There are lane closures on Moore Street in the city centre and Moss Way, Birley, is closed for tree pruning.

Also from tomorrow, Cross Street, Ecclesfield, is closed for repairs, while Ecclesfield Road, Chapeltown, is one-way for the next four weeks between Park View Road and Market Place for gas main works.
