DIGGERS will move in to start work on three road improvement schemes in Sheffield on Monday.
Alderson Road in Highfield will be closed for a week as work is done to improve pedestrian crossings on Abbeydale Road and London Road. The work, which is due to take seven weeks, includes new street lighting and road signs.
Meanwhile a new zebra crossing is being installed on the Tannery Street-Skelton Lane junction in Woodhouse.
Temporary traffic lights will be used sporadically during the four-week scheme.
Workmen are also to start improving a grass verge on the White Lane service lane, near the M1 outside Chapeltown.
The work will be coned and fenced off and will take an estimated three weeks.
