THE latest area of Sheffield to have its roads resurfaced and street lights replaced has been revealed.
Work will begin in Tinsley in May, as part of the £2 billion Streets Ahead highways repair programme, and take around 12 weeks to complete.
A roadshow is to be held in the area to give details of the project to residents and businesses, on Tuesday at Tinsley Community Centre, Ingfield Avenue.
Residents can drop in between 3pm and 7pm to see plans and put questions to the team from contractor Amey.
Coun Jack Scott, Sheffield Council’s cabinet member for environment, said: “Streets Ahead will make vast improvements to our highways, through smoother roads and pavements and better lit streets. We want people to know more about what we are doing and why, so everyone is invited to come along to the Tinsley roadshow.”
Coun Mazher Iqbal, whose Darnall ward includes Tinsley, added: “The roadshow is a great opportunity for local residents and businesses to find out about highways improvements planned for our area.”
