Road to be shut for two weeks

TRAFFIC will be disrupted when a main road in a South Yorkshire village is closed for resurfacing.

The project on the A616 Whams Road at Crow Edge, near Penistone, is due to start on Monday.

The route will be shut from the A628 Manchester Road to Lee Lane for two weeks.

Signed traffic diversions will be in operation via the A628 Manchester Road and Lee Lane.

The works are being carried out by Barnsley Council’s Engineering Service.

Meanwhile, in Thurnscoe, Tudor Street will be closed from Lidget Lane to Saxon Street from Monday for a week while gas works take place.
