Road restrictions bid to be refused

A PLEA for parking restrictions in a Sheffield neighbourhood is set to be refused because the accident rate has been deemed to be ‘too low’.

Residents of Ash View, Chestnut Drive and Holly Close in Chapeltown had submitted a petition signed by 25 people who wanted double yellow lines on junctions, bollards on corners and residents’ only permits to control parking at neighbouring Windmill Hill School.

But council officials said nobody has been injured in road accidents in the area for five years.

The issue will be discussed by the Northern Community Assembly on Wednesday.
