ROADWORKS on a main South Yorkshire route will start on Monday and are expected to last a fortnight.

Repairs are being carried out on the A628 Hoylandswaine bypass, near Barnsley.

As a result, there will be lane closures in operation between Hoylandswaine roundabout and Barnsley Road.

There will be a temporary 40mph speed restriction in place which will reduce down to a 30mph speed restriction along the length of the works.

A Barnsley Council spokesman said: “Lower speed limits will be in force for the duration of the repairs, which are anticipated to last for approximately two weeks.”
