A SHEFFIELD health worker who has spent more than four decades with the NHS in South Yorkshire has retired.

Mick Rodgers, Sheffield Health and Social Care Trust’s deputy chief executive and director of finance, has worked in the health sector since 1970.

Mick, aged 62, began his working life as an accountancy assistant at Lodge Moor Hospital, before moving to Rotherham and Mexborough Hospital Management Committee.

He later moved to the body which became Sheffield Health and Social Care, overseeing the trust’s budget.

Mick said he is planning to enjoy retirement with his wife, Ann.

Kevan Taylor, chief executive at the trust, said his colleague will be ‘greatly missed’.
