Resigning our membership

With reference to Mrs. W's letter concerning Councillor Cook ('More than just Voting') we would like to add that, on the Facebook thread in question, Coun Cook was directly asked what was more important to her, her 'job' or her principles?

At that point she turned off comments. When the question was reposted she eventually responded by saying that she was not going to answer any more questions.

The Labour councillors for Nether Edge and Sharrow have been no better.

Coun Maroof hasnot responded t0 email correspondence from us on the subject of the tree massacre and the Rustlings Road raid.

Councillor Akther initially responded with platitudes and evasions but has now, when asked to give a simple answer to a searching question, fallen silent.

She also had the cheek to thank us for “your vote and your support”.

Well we hope she and Councillor Maroof make the most of it because they won’t be getting them next time and neither will any other Labour candidate who does not disassociate him or herself from this disgraceful state of affairs.

Like Mrs W, we are also now resigning our membership of the Labour Party.

Yours in absolute fury and contempt.
