Residents urged to join the debate

Residents are encouraged to take part in community assemblies and have a say about their neighbourhoods.

Chesterfield Council has introduced community assemblies to allow residents to raise issues with the council and other public bodies.

There are four assemplies and the meetings take place as follows:

South – covering Town Centre, Brampton, Boythorpe, St Augustines, Grangewood, Hasland, Hady and Spital – Tuesday, September 17, from 6.30pm at the Town Hall.

West – Walton, Somersall, Brookside, Ashgate, Loundsley Green, Linacre, Holme Hall, Newbold Village and Brockwell – Town Hall from 6.30pm on Wednesday, September 18.

North – Stonegravels, Peveril, Pevensey, Dunston, Upper Newbold, Whittington Moore, Old Whittington, New Whittington, The Brushers and Sheepbridge – 6.30pm at Whittington Moor Methodist Church on Wednesday, September 25.

East – Tapton, Brimington, Brimington Common, Inkersall, Duckmanton, Poolsbrook, Middlecroft, Hollingwood, Barrow Hill, Hartington, Staveley, Lowgates, Mastin Moor and Woodthorpe – Thursday, September 26, at Speedwell Rooms, Staveley.
