Residents’ speed check campaign

Have your say

Seven motorists are set to receive warning letters about their speed after the latest check by volunteers in Peak District villages.

Five drivers were found speeding on Stretfield Road, Bradwell, in the Hope Valley, during a one-hour check and two drivers were caught speeding on the B6465 in Wardlow, near Tideswell.

The volunteers were part of the Community Speed Watch project, introduced to the area in 2010 after residents raised concerns about speeding drivers. They work alongside police officers to use radar guns to check traffic speeds.
