THEY may have felt like they had a mountain to climb when they started.
But this group of volunteers certainly look like they made it to the top of this mountain of rubbish after they got together in force to clean up their Doncaster village.
The volunteers got together to clear rubbish from Garden Lane and surrounding woodlands.
Together they collected around 40 bags full of rubbish, including tyres, a bed, a mattress and even a toy orang-utan.
The waste was then taken away by Doncaster Council’s neighbourhood team.
Resident Ruth Law was one of those who organised the litter pick.
She said: “The Garden Lane area has lots of trees and wildflowers and is popular with dog walkers.
“We decided to do the litter pick because the land has been spoilt by litter. Most of the problem is people throwing away drinks cans and takeaway wrappers.”
