Residents fight housing plans

RESIDENTS fighting plans for homes on green belt land are being supported by a South Yorkshire town council.

Members of Dinnington and Anston Save Our Green Belt attended Dinnington Town Council’s monthly meeting.

The campaigners said plans to earmark fields around the area for up to 200 new houses were ‘unacceptable’ - after Rotherham Council had ‘promised’ high quality farmland would be protected.

Dinnington Town Council voted to object to Rotherham Council’s plans, contained in its ‘core strategy’.
