Residents have been evacuated from their homes in Rotherham following a warehouse blaze.

The fire in Fitzwilliam Road, East Dene, broke out at around 4.50pm yesterday.

It involved a warehouse used to store items including mattresses and carpets.

Firefighters called out to extinguish the flames evacuated local residents.

Structural engineers are due at the scene today.

The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
