Residential care centre gets the go-ahead
Plans for a new residential care home aimed at reducing pressure on hospital facilities have been given the go-ahead.
The centre will have 99 beds, and is set to be built on the site of the old Ravenscroft Resource Centre on Smelter Wood Drive, Stradbroke.
As well as the bed spaces the scheme will offer physio, aqua, occupational and speech therapies, as well as a café, library, cinema, and a hair and beauty salon. Elderly, rehabilitation and intermediate care will be provided in partnership with the NHS.
The plans were unanimously approved by Sheffield councillors at a planning committee meeting.
