An air ambulance was reportedly called out to Shiregreen after a crash involving two vehicles.

A resident at the scene reported that one person was airlifted to hospital after a collision on Hartley Brook Road, at the junction of Nether Shire Lane.

The reports are currently unconfirmed, however Sheffield Council’s Streets Ahead roads maintenance team said they were made aware at about 9.30pm last night that there had been a crash on the road.

A tweet by @SCCStreetsAhead said: “We have been made aware of a RTC on Hartley Brook Road at the junction with Nether Shire Lane, one of our teams are on route.”

UPDATE: Other residents have since been in touch with The Star via social media, and it appears that the reports of an air ambulance are correct.

Lyn Southern said via “I saw the air ambulance come over our house and it looked like it was looking for a landing place. Never seen it so close before.

“I posted to see if anyone knew what was happening. I hope everyone is OK x”
