A NEW system for reporting fraud has launched across South Yorkshire.
Police are urging the public to report any scams and non-urgent offences to Action Fraud, run by the National Fraud Authority, which will deal with complaints from now on.
The new system should help build a bigger picture of financially-motivated internet crime and scams at a regional and national level.
Graham Wragg, manager of South Yorkshire Police’s Economic Crime Unit, said: “Action Fraud will improve the service that the police give to victims. We will be able to analyse fraud offences and those who perpetrate them across the country, enhancing our ability to detect and prosecute offenders.”
Action Fraud can be contacted on 0300 123 2040.
