A remembrance service is to be held at Chesterfield Royal Hospital for bereaved parents.

The service is organised and led by the Chesterfield Birth Centre co-ordinators, paediatrics, the neonatal unit, women’s health unit and the hospital chaplain as part of the ongoing support for families who have lost babies and children through miscarriage, stillbirth, illness or accident.

It has been held each year since the early 90s and always takes place on the Sunday after the Easter weekend, falling this year on Sunday, April 12.

The service is to be held in a marquee in car park 5 from 3pm.

Lyn Guerriero, who supports bereaved families, said: “It gives those who attend the chance to reflect in their own way about their loss.”
