Regulars at one of the city’s oldest pubs have launched a petition to save it amid fears it could be turned into houses.
The Crossfield Tavern on Mortomley Lane in High Green dates from 1790 but was recently put up for sale.
And regulars at the historic watering hole fear that a purchase may have gone through and the pub could become the latest in the area to close.
n Local people are being urged to sign an online petition to save the pub. Log onto www.SaveOurCrossfieldTavern.co.uk/ for more details.
