Regional accolade for offices

AN office development in the heart of Sheffield has won a regional award from the UK's leading office industry organisation, the British Council for Offices.

Judges praised developer CTP St James and Sheffield City Council for the development of 1, St. Paul’s Place.

“This is a praiseworthy example of partnership between a visionary local authority and a commercial developer to reinvigorate an area of Sheffield city centre,” said the judges.

“The development has done well in creating public space to complement the Millenn-ium Square, re-using the foundations of former council offices.

“The offices set new quality standards for Sheffield, mak-ing maximum use of location and surrounding views of the new town square and beyond the city.”

David Topham of CTP St James said: “St. Paul’s Place is the start of a new commercial central business district for Sheffield city centre.”

Andy Topley, director of regeneration at city development company Creative Sheffield, said: “This is an excellent development. The quality of the offer provided by St. Paul's Place is a signal the city economy is changing and Sheffield City Centre is fast developing as a high quality business location.”
