Recommendation of the week: Cafe Number 9, 9 Nether Edge Road, Sheffield, S7 1RU
With its fairy lights and vivid green frontage, the outside of Cafe Number 9 is a welcoming sight.
There isn’t the same vast amount of competition as there is on nearby Sharrowvale and Abbeydale roads, so it can get pretty busy inside the cosy, quirky interior, especially on Nether Edge market days.
But the coffee is strong, the cinnamon rolls (80 pence) infamous, and there’s always a warm welcome at this incredibly laid back and bohemian venue. Toasties, soup and the acoustic nights are also worthy of a mention.
