After Doncaster Rovers pulled the plug on manager Paul Dickov just six league games into the season yesterday afternoon, you shared your views on whether it was the right decision in our online poll.
Free Press readers voted overwhelmingly in favour of the club’s decision to axe the former Scotland International - with 81 per cent of the 425 people polled saying it was the right move.
Just 81 people, or 19 per cent of those polled, disagreed with Dickov’s forced departure. Doncaster Rovers confirmed the departure via a statement on their website yesterday, commenting that Dickov had left his position as first team manager ‘based on performance to date’.
Pressure had been mounting on Dickov, who took up the role in May 2013, to step down for a number of weeks, as fans’ frustrations grew as they watched Rovers rack up just six points in the first six games.
