Tesco on Dykes Hall Road, Hillsborough, was ram raided at around 3.55am and Spar on Pot House Lane, Stocksbridge, was broken into at 4.20pm.

A police investigation into both raids is now under way.

Detectives said a dark coloured vehicle was used in both incidents.

Last week, South Yorkshire Police revealed that Tesco on Infirmary Road, Upperthorpe, was raided in the early hours of Friday.

A Tesco store on Herries Road, Southey, was targeted the day before but the crooks involved failed to gain entry through the shutters at the front of the shop.

On Wednesday, the Co-op on Oldfield Road, Stannington, was raided.
