SHEFFIELD’S Denys Edwards Players will perform Tresure Island at the Crucible Theatre from July 17 to 21.
The production has been described as a rib-tickling retelling of the classic story from RL Stevenson by Phil Willmott, the comedy playwright, who created DEP’s recent triumph Dick Barton – Special Agent.
A Crucible spokesman said: “This is a very lively and fun-filled tale, written to include more women than in the original, which brings colour, mirth and sea shanties to the stage in a piece set to warm the cockles of pirate hearts from eight to 80 plus.”
Tickets for the show can be bought from the Sheffield Theatres’ Box Office by logging onto www.sheffieldtheatres.co.uk/event/dep-treasure-island-12 or by calling 0114 2496000.
They are £10 with concessions of £8.50 for OAPs, children, unwaged and students for the Saturday Matinée only.
