The wet weather failed to dampen spirits as people of all ages flocked to enjoy a day of family entertainment in Doncaster.
Doncaster Racecourse’s family fun day included appearances from children’s favourite Peppa Pig and darts legend Bobby George.
Youngsters enjoyed fun fair rides, Young Hooves colouring competition, interactive shows, face painting and much more, while Bobby George challenged race-goers to a nine dart challenge.
Leading racing commentator and popular personality Derek ‘Tommo’ Thompson was on hand all day interviewing visitors and staff and giving away prizes including tickets for Madness, the DJ night and the Friday of the St Leger festival in a losing betting slip competition after each race.
Kieran Gallagher, racecourse executive director, said: “The drizzle didn’t dampen spirits for some 10,000 people who turned out to enjoy our second family fun day of the year.
“The packed programme, coupled with a great carnival atmosphere and first-class horse racing from a seven race card, once again ensured our fun day was a huge success.”
