REFURBISHMENT of trains used on the Sheffield to London service has reached a milestone.
The work has been completed all six of East Midlands Trains’ seven-carriage Meridian trains as part of a £30 million project to revamp the company’s entire fleet.
Meanwhile, the upgrade of four-car and five-car trains used on the route is set to be completed by early 2012.
Work on the Meridian trains, which are the more modern ones used on the Sheffield to London route, has included new seat covers and carpets.
There are luxury leather seats in first class, additional luggage space and a new space for buggies.
