Train services in South Yorkshire have been disrupted this afternoon after a woman was struck on the railway.
The woman was hit by a train at Chapeltown station at just after 3pm, suffering injuries to her head and foot.
Rail services between Sheffield and Barnsley have been hit by delays of up to an hour, with trains diverted via Rotherham Central and replacement buses laid on.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Chapeltown station following a report that a woman had been struck by a train. BTP and South Yorkshire Police officers are currently at the incident, which was reported to police at 3.05pm and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.
“Medics from Yorkshire Ambulance Service are also at the scene, treating the woman for injuries to her foot and head.”
