Rail company wins its own Olympics

DONCASTER company Lakeside-based Grant Rail has struck gold by winning two contracts linked to the 2012 London Olympic Games and is now setting up an office in the capital to help carry out the work.

They will work on the 238m Docklands Light Railway and Stratford International extension, as part of a joint venture with engineering company Skanska.

Doncaster Central MP Rosie Winterton, also minister of state for transport, officially opened the company’s new base: “It is fantastic to see a Doncaster company doing so well. I wish them every future success.”
