DONCASTER Racecourse has seen “unprecedented demand” for tickets for racing on royal wedding day, bosses have revealed.
Managers say more than 20,000 free tickets to the royal race day, on the bank holiday of Friday April 29, have been snapped up in record time thanks to unprecedented demand.
The wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton will be shown live on big screens at the course during the event.
Mark Spincer, managing director of Doncaster Racecourse, said: “The demand for tickets to the Royal Race Day has been staggering. Days after being made available, more than 20,000 people had logged onto our website to place reservations for our allocation of free tickets and thousands more had snapped up heavily discounted options for our other enclosures.”
