A team of Owls stars visited a Sheffield community project to show their support and try their hands at a host of different sports.
The quartet, which included Sam Hutchinson, Steven Fletcher, Barry Bannan and Liam Palmer, paid a visit to the ‘Premier League 4 Sport’ project, which works to deliver Sheffield Wednesday-branded weekly satellite clubs to hundreds of pupils in schools and community centres across the north of the city.
The community project, now in its third year, works in partnership with the Premier League, Sport England and sporting national bodies.
As well as trying out a variety of sports offered by the project, including table tennis, boxing, basketball, tennis, football, badminton, netball and golf, the players took the time to meet young participants on the project.
Isobel Dunn, Premier League co-ordinator at Sheffield Wednesday, said: “The Community Programme runs projects like this all across the city and is very thankful to both the players and the participants for their help in showcasing some of the new and exciting projects that are going to be running throughout the next year.”
