Put heart into science contest

Have your say

BUDDING young scientists are being called upon to create their own model heart.

Children from across South Yorkshire are being asked to create a designer ticker as part of the British Heart Foundation’s Support Our Science campaign.

Schools and youth clubs across the area have been tasked with making a model of the organ, demonstrating how it is pumped around the body, to be in with a chance of scooping the grand prize.

The winning team will have their design turned into a kit by the BHF to help young people around the country learn more about the heart.

The competition is open to all children aged 11 to 18 and the models must be made from normal everyday household materials. The closing date for entries is Friday, November 30.
