VOLUNTEERS are needed to help Sheffield Council and emergency services put their responses to the test.
In a make-believe scenario, the city’s major incident response group will practise helping people who have been evacuated from their homes and taken to an emergency centre.
The council has well-prepared plans of what to do if the worst happens and it wants to put the plans and procedures to the test.
The authority regularly carries out emergency planning training in such exercises and occasionally needs public help. Volunteers are needed to act as people who have been affected by an emergency.
The exercise will take place on Thursday, November 29, from 10am to 3.30pm at a location in the city centre.
Visit Sheffield Council or call Philip Horton on 0114 2734504 to take part.
